Introducing the TUFFY Spray Lab: Test Any Pressure Washer Before You Commit
Posted by American Pressure Inc on 26th Oct 2026
TUFFY has launched the TUFFY Spray Lab, a free, interactive simulator that shows how pressure washer specifications translate into real cleaning performance.
Users can set the pressure, flow, nozzle and distance, choose a surface and watch the results in real time: how fast it cleans, how much water it uses and whether the setup is safe for the surface. American Pressure is pleased to help introduce it. The Spray Lab gives customers a clear way to evaluate equipment before they invest.
Evaluate any pressure washer
The Spray Lab isn’t limited to a single machine. You can enter the specifications of equipment you already own, a unit you’re considering or the machines your crew runs every day. Pressure can be set from 1,000 to 4,500 PSI and flow from 1 to 12 GPM, so you can model nearly any machine on the market.
That makes it a practical resource for a wide range of users:
- Contractors can judge whether an equipment upgrade would meaningfully reduce job times.
- Fleet and facility managers can compare options before making a purchasing decision.
- Homeowners can see whether a smaller unit is suited to their needs.
- Sales and training teams can show customers how specifications affect results.
Test nozzles, pressure, flow and distance
The Spray Lab lets you adjust the variables that shape real-world results. Nozzle tips range from a 0° pinpoint to a 40° fan, and pressure, flow and working distance can each be changed independently. Every change is reflected immediately in the spray pattern, the cleaning rate and the performance data.
Users can work on four common surfaces: concrete, wood decking, vinyl siding and automotive paint. Each one carries realistic contaminants such as oil, mildew, algae and road tar. The simulator also flags settings that would damage the surface, and it shows the loss of cleaning effectiveness as working distance increases.
The Spray Lab has three modes:
- Play lets users clean a surface directly and track time, water use and area cleaned.
- Split screen places two setups side by side on identical surfaces for a direct comparison.
- Compare estimates a full job for any two machines, including time, coverage and water use.
Designed around adjustable flow
TUFFY developed the Spray Lab to show the value of flow alongside pressure. The TUFFY Powerload uses innovative adjustable flow technology, allowing operators to tune output up to 4,000 PSI and 12 GPM to suit each application. Instead of working within a single fixed setting, operators can match the machine’s output to the surface and the task.
The Spray Lab makes those benefits easy to see. Users can configure a Powerload setup, test it across different surfaces and watch how adjusting flow changes cleaning performance. American Pressure has long emphasized that flow is as important as pressure in cleaning efficiency, and the Spray Lab shows that principle clearly.
