We Sell Change
Posted by American Pressure Inc on 17th Sep 2026
Every installation we do starts with a problem, not a product. A customer isn't calling us because they want a pressure washer. They're calling because something in their operation is costing them time, money, or both, and they need it fixed.
That's the whole idea behind our installation work: we sell change. Positive change, specifically. We help companies solve specific problems, and because every business's problem looks a little different, our customization work is where we spend most of our energy. Three recent customers show exactly what that looks like in practice.
A Trucking Company Needed Their Trucks Cleaned Faster
A trucking company came to us and mentioned that they were spending too much time cleaning diesel trucks they repair. Every extra minute spent washing a truck is a minute a bay isn't turning over the next job.
We moved them from a 4GPM@3000PSI pressure washer to a 5GPM@3000PSI pressure washer. That single change sped up their cleaning times by 25.09%, a measurable drop in the time it takes to get a truck washed and back on the road. Sometimes the fix isn't complicated. It's matching the equipment to the actual workload instead of what was installed years ago.
An Automotive Detail Shop Needed to Stop Losing Money to Downtime
An automotive detail company came to us with two separate problems. First, their aging stationary pressure washer kept going down, and every hour it was down was an hour their shop wasn't running. Second, because of the nature of their business, cars kept driving over their hoses, so they were going through replacement hoses constantly.
We replaced their unit with a new system at the same performance level, so there was no learning curve or workflow change. Then we set them up on a preventive maintenance (PM) plan that swaps out wear components before they fail, instead of waiting for a breakdown to force the issue. For the hose problem, we moved them to a Kevlar hose built to survive being run over, something a standard hose was never going to hold up to.
Both changes solved real, ongoing costs. Downtime dropped, and so did the hose replacement bill. That's the kind of fix that doesn't show up in a sales brochure, but shows up in their monthly numbers.
A Trash and Recycling Company Needed One System to Do Three Jobs
A local trash and recycling company came to us with a gas engine pressure washer that was falling short in three different ways: it didn't have enough performance to drive their trash bin cleaning machine, the engine noise was becoming a nuisance, and their shop floors were hard to keep clean.
We moved them into a much higher-flow stationary natural gas pressure washer. That one system now properly drives their bin cleaner, washes their trash trucks faster, and runs a surface cleaner with recovery on their shop floor, so they're not out there with a squeegee at the end of the day. Three problems, one installation.
What This Actually Means If You're Reading This
If any part of those stories sounds familiar, slow wash times, downtime you can't afford, equipment that can't keep up with what you're actually asking it to do, that's exactly the kind of problem our installation work is built around.
This is also where wear parts come into the picture. Nozzles, unloaders, hoses, and trigger guns all have a lifespan, and we calculate expected wear based on how hard and how often your system actually runs. That's the same thinking that helped the detail shop above avoid repeat downtime: get ahead of the part before it fails, instead of finding out when the system goes down.
We install wash bays, we fabricate custom trailers and skids, we set up home shops, and we service everything we install afterward across the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and into Wisconsin and Iowa. If your current setup isn't solving the actual problem in front of you, that's the conversation worth having.
